The German chapter of the European Movement ((Netzwerk Europäische Bewegung Deutschland is not only a citizen organization, but a nation-wide platform for political communication with the goal to improve the European political communication and the European outlook in Germany and strengthen the German position within Europe. As such it inspires other national chapters of the European Movement to become platforms for debates.
The European Movement network regularly organizes de-briefings during which EU and German governmental officials explain decisions, ongoing discussion or future agenda in all relevant policy fields. As the debriefing takes place under the Chatham House Rule, participants can discuss their questions controversially – giving feed-back to the political decision-makers. Another instrument of the Network are analyses of EU Green Books, sending out early warnings to EU Actors. Both measures help to debate Europe on the national level.Author :
